Series 86C Interfacing to a Doorking 1812 Residential Telephone
Intercom / Access Control System
1. Overview
The block diagram below illustrates the basic connections between the AFI Series 86C POTS fiber
interface and the Doorking 1812 Residential Telephone Intercom / Access Control System.
The Doorking 1812 should be setup for “intercom mode” and the Doorking “phone out” terminals are
connected to the MR-86C.
The TBB-1B Talk Battery Booster may be needed if the resulting voltage open circuit voltage is less
than 48Vdc. AFI’s MT-86C will provide ~ 24Vdc open circuit at the Line In.
A contact channel is also available on the Series 86C which may be used for gate/access control.
Closure of the “Contact In” at the MT-86C results in a relay closure at the MR-86C “Contact Out”.
The relay output ratings are 200 Volts DC/peakAC and 0.5 Amps DC/peakAC .
